Scammon Kansas, located in Cherokee county, was prospering during a mining boom in the late 1890s. The California Concert Company along with Houdini performed in Scammon in 1898. It appears the performers were only there for a weekend and then moved on. Houdini's magic was witnessed at the town Opera House. I am trying to determine where the company stayed while in Scammon. Any information or photos would be invaluable to my research and credited in the book.
